We had to have all the tile in our bathtub/shower area ripped out. There was water damage behind. The drywall and any rotted area was replaced, and a 5 piece tub surround was installed. The problem is that the tub surround does not go up the walls as high as the original tile did. Now we aren't sure what to do with this area. There is about 4 inch area from the top of the tub surround that is not smooth from where the previous tiles were, and then about 5 inches of regular textured wall above it. What can we do to fill in this entire area and make is look "normal". Also the shower head is now above the tub surround a couple inches as well. Help!

Welcome to the forums! I am assuming you left the wallboard above the present shower unit. It will go alot better if you go ahead and remove it,too. That way, you can install lattice strips on the face of the studs to build them out to the depth of the thickness of the shower mold. You can, then install greenboard above this and it will lay over the surround lip. Hope this answered your question. If not, post back and we'll take another swing.
