I installed laminate flooring in my kitchen a couple of years ago and laid the planks along the longest wall like the directions said to. Now I am installing the same laminate flooring in my living room and dining that is off the kitchen. Only problem is the longest wall and the way the light is coming in is opposite of the kitchen. Should I run the flooring in the same direction coming off the kitchen or run it parallel tothe incoming light and longest wall of the living room and dining room? Not sure if that would look too weird with the flooring running perpindicular to one another at the kitchen and living room/dining room transition. Any suggestions or ideas would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance!

I agree, with nothing seperating the two rooms it would be a bit odd to change the direction. However it is more of a personal thing. I have seen it both ways. If you do change the direction you would just need a transition piece between the two rooms.
That said, I still like to keep things going the same direction. Good luck
