I am going to be applying some wood preservative to the roof eaves of a home. Most of the work is overhead and I'll be up on a ladder with protective gear on. It does not need to have more than 1gal capacity since I will only be filling it 1gal at a time.

I am thinking of getting a small backpack sprayer with a wand/fan tip, possibly one of the battery powered ones. Manual pumping is OK as long as I don't need to pump it while I am up on the ladder. It is important that it does not leak/drip, and is easy to keep clean. I may have to toss it once I am done so I want to avoid the expensive units.

Any recommendations?

Before you buy that type of sprayer be sure that it is capable of spraying the coating that you plan to use.
