We have an Amana dryer (LEA 60 AW, which a repairman once told me is the same as a ALE643RA) which is working fine. About once a year I clean down under the lint filter (it fits across the bottom of the door, and down underneath it lint builds up over time). I reach in from the top with a long tool to scrape loose and gather the lint, and then vacuum it out with one of those attachments they sell for keyboards - about 2 feet of 1/2 inch flexible hose with little attachments. It has always worked well before, but today the wand attachment (about pencil-sized) separated from the hose, fell in, and rolled backward. I can't see it at all from the top, and have no idea how to fish it out. Can I get in there any way but from the top? Will it ruin the dryer if I try to use it? I'd appreciate any help, and accept all the ribbing I deserve for this not-very-smart move.
