This is a new thread from my post a couple of days ago. Wife is a partner in a business that moved into a new complex with an Ademco Visa 40 panel. No master code available. I did the power up and * +# to get to the programming menu. #00 and the installer code was 4140 (Default). Did a *99 to exit and followed instructions for adding a new master code but the panel went into Armed mode. I cannot do any changes at all now. I hope someone out there can help with this one. I have tried to redo the add Master code. I can change the installer code in programming mode but tried the #01 from the start and it comes back with a 0 on the display. Installer code will not disarm panel either.

Power dowm, then power up. Enter installer code +8+02+(new master code).

I have tried that several times, even had a local Alarm company tech online with me and it still would not take the code. Like I said, the system is in armed mode when you power back up, unless you go into programming mode with *+#
Thanks for your reply anyway.

In programming mode enter * 01 + [new master code].
Exit program with *99
If that doesn't work, then something very odd is going on, or you are missing a vital keystroke or two that you don't realize is needful.
