It's easier to remove the film when warm and the sun is shining through. Ammonia or ammonia-based windex is effective. Raise corners with razor scraper and pull gently to pull of as much as possible. Spray window and try to work cleaner under edge of film, lifting enough to pull off more. Continue until all is removed. Some score the window film and spray, working off sections at a time. Take care not to damage window with razor. #0000 superfine steel wool and product like Goo Gone or solvent cleaner can be used to remove residue.

I can remember using water when putting on such film 20 yrs ago.
Use a spray, start from the corner...

I use to do this for a living and what I would do is spray the glass with
"simple green" 1part 20 parts water the use pastic garbage bags cut open stuck on wet to hold the moisture in. Why simple green/ because you can use it on other stuff also. The glass has to be wet for it to stick and it helps to trim any over hang too. The moisture will permeate the film The about every 15 minutes spray more just on the top edge it will trickle down. In the sun is better then shade after an hour start checking if it will pull off now if it seems you can and its not too old get enough for a good hand hold and quickly rip it off. After that glass again and apply plastic cause the glue is still there. Wait 20 mins and scrap with razor blades. Use only good sharp blades and keep glass a little wet.
