I saw on a TV show, out of the corner of my eye, someone laying a patio of flagstone. What was unusual (to me) was that the stones seemed to be attached to a flexible backing. They were in sheets of about 4' by 4'. The individual stones were already pre-spaced and apparently stuck to the backing some way. After the sheet was down, the person put filler in the spaces. The backing looked like perforated metal or rubber and it was flexible so it conformed to the ground.

Is anyone familiar with this material and where it is obtained?
