Hello, I have a GHSC39ETES Frigidaire side by side refrigerator and the last day or two the temperature has been about 20-25 degrees above normal. The freezer is supposed to be around 0 and it's at 25 and the fridge is supposed to be 33 and it's at 55. Any thoughts or suggestions would be much appriciated before I have to call a repair man.

I would start by cleaning the condensor coil real good. It should be located under the bottom of the fridge.

We bought this house in Dec. with a 2001 GE Arctica; according to the website after 2001 the coils are not able to be cleaned by the consumer??

The motor has been running steadily but the freezer can't seem to get down below 17, I finally shut it off last night, GE want's $80 just to look at it as it's out of warranty. I think it was pricey when new, so I'm scared to find out what repairs will cost, anyone got any ideas?

I cleaned the coils and now it's going up and down in temp. I called a repairman and he said that I need a new defrost system that'll cost $300 to install. Is this a good price?
