Good day,
I am thinking of adding a keypad or two to my dsc 5010 system.
It was a wireless keypad (unknown model) and a wireless motion sensor in the garage.
I have 17 zones listed on the keypad.
I would like to add a used LCD 5500, but even used ones are rather pricey.
3 questions:
Will the LCD5501z work in this setup?
What is the main difference between 5500 and 5501?
Any tips on where I might get 2 keypads at a low price? (Not ebay!).
Thanks.
Alp

The 5501 keypad is what's known as a "fixed english" keypad. It displays a limited set of words and numbers, but is essentially the same as a LED keypad. The pricier alphanumeric keypads can be programmed to display plain english displays, and are a bit easier for DIY programming (as DSC programming goes...).

Thank You Ron.
Now, will this LCD 5501 be able to see my 17 (or more) zones? Again, I have a 5010 set up for 17 zones, I know I have a module to increase the number of zones from whatever is default on the 5010 to 32 zones think.
Or is the 5501 it limited to 16 zones?
Thanks
Alp

No, the 5501 keypad will display zone numbers to the limit of the system capacity.
