Electronic Alarms and Home Security Devices - Help. Can't get "instant stay" in Caddx system

I bought a new built house and it has a pre-installed alarm unit. The unit is GE Caddx NX-6 V2. The keypad is NX-1308. The system has 6 wired zones and everything seems to work as expected.

My only problem is that I cannot activate the "Instant" mode. If I input the master or a user code and press stay, it's armed in the stay mode. Per the manual, pressing stay again should toggle the instant mode on and off.

In my case, pressing "stay" while in "stay" mode does nothing!!

I have both the master and programming codes.

That feature isn't activated by default. You have to go into programming section 23 and turn on option 8.

Thanks a lot for your help. I am looking at the installation manual, under "Location 23", in Segment 1 or 3, option 8 seems to do some other stuff. Now in Location 23, segment 2, option 7, it is listed as "On enables the Automatic Instant feature". Is that what I am looking for?

Somehow, it seemed from reading the manual that if "auto instant" is enabled, the instant light should come on by itself if I don't leave through an exit door. However, the manual seems to indicate that if "auto instant" is off, I can toggle the "delayed entry" to "instant" mode by pressing the "stay" button.

OK.. A quick update. I initailly had the NX-6 installation manual. I was able to download the NX6V2 installation manual which shows that Location 23, segment 2, option 8 "enable instant mode toggle". I will give it a try later today.
