hello all,
I have just recently moved into my house and am having issues with my kitchen light fixture. The fixture has two light sockets and is fed from a single switch on the entrance to the kitchen. The light recently burned out and I went to replace the bulb. This is when I found out it had two fixtures. Both bulbs were burned out. I replaced both bulbs thinking more light is always a good thing. I put everything back together and the 2nd bulb blew after about five minutes again. I then checked the wiring (parallel) between the two sockets with a good ground. What gives? I tried two bulbs and they always blow about 5 mins after the light is on.
Thanks
Brian

Are you exceeding the maximum wattage of the fixture?

Are the bulbs really burnt out? Try moving the bulb you think is burnt out to a different fixture (other than these two)?

Also check the wattage of the bulb against the maximum of the fixture as Bob suggested. What wattage and type of bulb are we talking about anyway?

When the bulbs are on do they pulse or dim and brighten?
