Help!!
My hot water heater is only two and a half years old and it continues to go out. Every other day we are re-setting the hot water heater so that it could get hot. What could be the problem with the hot water heater?
Thanks!

If by "resetting" you mean that you need to push in the red button on the high temperature safety thermostat it means that one of your adjustable thermostats is not working.
Most likely it is the lower thermostat. An improperly set (too high) upper thermostat could also be the problem. Both upper and lower thermostats should have the same setting between 125 and 140 degrees.
If this has just started, have you recently increased the amount of hot water that you use in any given limited time frame? If yes, then it could be a mis-set upper thermostat.
If you have not made any recent and significant increase in hot water usage it is probably the lower thermostat.
