Hi all I'm new to the site. I stumbled across it searching for hours on how to fix the problem I'm having.
Let me start by saying I have a First Alert home alarm it came with the house. It has worked great for 7 years up until I messed with it tonight. I was trying to put in a temporary code for a user and now it says NO AC and it is plugged in and there is electricity going to the outlet. I have tries to press the # button to see why it wasn't working and I get a EE in the top left corner and NO AC in the right side. then when I shut all doors to see if it would arm. It doesn't!! and it displays numbers on the screen..if I press 2 it shoes it on display.
Does anyone know how to reset the keypad or help me figure out what I did wrong...PLEASE!!
what I put initially was my code then 8 to mark the temp password.

I think you accidentally put it in program mode. By now it has probably timed out, but normally you exit by pressing *99. On some of the older FA/Ademco models, (the FA120c, for example), the master code is also the programming code.
If you pressed code + 8 + 0, then the system jumps to program mode.

YOU are the best!!! I put *99 and it worked...thanks sooooo much
1 more question please how do I put in a temp pass code? I originally did my code then 8 and there was no beep. Is there another way? i have seemed to loose my booklet

That's going to vary a bit depending on your actual model. If yours is a FA120c (basically the same as Ademco 4110xm), then the keystrokes will be:
MASTER CODE + [CODE KEY] + USER # ( 2-7) + DESIRED 4-DIGIT ACCESS CODE.
I'll bet that what you did was add a leading zero to the user number selection, thus jumping to program.

I did the directions you stated and that seems right from what I remember. after I hear the beep after pressing the 4then I enter the code... I waited for a signal to say it was added and I didn't get it. What am I forgetting to do?
MASTER CODE + [CODE KEY] + USER # ( 2-7) + DESIRED 4-DIGIT ACCESS CODE.

Ok, as I understand it, you added the code, and heard the beep AFTER you finished, correct? If so, test the code by enetering the new four digit code followed by a command (code+1[off]). Then the keypad should beep. If it doesn't, the code wasn't entered properly. Good luck

I tried and tried and tested...it doesn't work right..I also lost my quick command to arm by pressing #3 or #2

Most likely, you are hesitating too long between keystrokes. You need to enter everything with no more than a second or so between keystrokes.
example:
to add 1234 as user code 5
[MASTER CODE] + 8 + 5 + 1234
For the other problem, you may have accidentally turned off the quick arm function when you stumbled into program mode.
To fix it enter [master code] + 8 + 0
enter *21 1
*99
example:
to add 1234 as user code 5
[MASTER CODE] + 8 + 5 + 1234
