I have a double-ended style bulb much like those halogen work light ones.
Details:
Length-- 4.094 in (104.0mm)
Watts-- 400
Volts-- 125
Base-- R7s (Recessed Single Contact)

I am wondering if I can fit this bulb to a work light. If not, can anyone
suggest any other flood-type housing for this bulb?

I suggest forgetting it, and starting from square one and getting a fixture that suits your needs, and use the bulbs available for it.
