I am trying to replace a part on the (gas) stove but need to remove the sealed stovetop to get to it. Would someone know how this could be accomplished?
I know enough to remove the burners but the top cover may have screws to be removed before the top could be lifted. The model number of the stove is cgs3760adc....I really need someone to tell me exactly how I can lift the cover. If there are screws to be taken out please let me know which ones...thanks

Hello sag and Welcome to the Do It Yourself Web Site and the Gas Appliances topic.
Some brands and models the burners must be removed. Look for screws that will allow burner removal. Some counter top units require the entire unit to be removed. Then turned up side down to remove the screws holding the bottom metal cabinet to the glass top.
Use extreme caution on all models. Glass top breakage can occur  and the glass top is not an inexpensive item to replace...:wall:
Free standing ranges also vary. Some models require front clips between front top lid and front panel be released first. Some require rear panel removal to access top lid removal or lifting. In all cases, use extreme care with the glass top.
Additional Suggestions:
Read the manufacturers on line web site for product information, problem possibilities, causes, solving methods, part locations, disassembly, reassembly methods, repair procedures, pictorials, schematics, repair and or owners manuals which may be available on line.
Cautionary Reminder Note: Before attempting any repairs, be sure to unplug the appliance from the wall receptacle power source first. Test for leaks on all connections using leak detection soap.
