I tried to change the oil in my Evinrude 35 yesterday. I pulled the lower plug out and then the top plug. I noticed that the lower plug had a long smooth tip on it,,so I tried to put it back into the hole. Now the lower plug wont go back into the hole, something is stopping it from going back in.. What do I need to do to get the plug back in????? Help... I have an outboard that I cant use till this is done..thanks in advance.....ron.

As you might know by now that was not the drain plug. Get a manual to see how to get it back together.

You probley have it figured out by now, but if not. Take off the bottom, make sure it's in neutral and find the hole. this is the linkage pin for fwd/revs.
