We had ceiling lights put in over a year ago in our bedroom and for the first 8 months or so the lights were bright...not overly bright but just right. However over the last two months or so they have become dimmer. I've tried new light bulbs, both same wattage and higher wattage - and different styles. Nothing seems to make it any better they are still very dim and I'm at my wits end. Any suggestions?

So should I infer that we're talking about incandescent bulbs? What wattage?

Most ceiling fan contain a built-in dimmer for the lights. Does your fan come with a hand-held dimmer? Or maybe a wall control dimmer?

Maybe you put the hand-held dimmer in the drawer a long time ago and forgot you even have it. And maybe the dimmer got activated when you threw that opera program in the drawer two months ago.

Or maybe your neighbor installed the same fan and his dimmer's remote control has dimmed your lights?
