The exterior of my is stucco. My wif and I are in the process of adding a sunroom. What is the process for removing stucco? Can drywall be installed in its place? Is there another way of going from stucco to another finish without removing the stucco?

why not leave the stucco on there and incorporating it with the room.
It will be so much easier. No if you were to have vinyl or aluminum siding,
i would remove it. I think if someone had a brick exterior, it would look best.

Goodluck.

We were thinking that the room would look better as an extension of the interior instead of the exterior since we are adding on to the square footage of the home.

You could also re-surface the existing stucco without removing it. This may give you the finish you want at a lower cost.

How does one go about re-surfacing stucco?

What is the existing finish, and what do you want to end up with? Most importantly, is it painted?
