My garage entry door is about 30 feet from the back of the house. To get to it you got out the house across a deck, down 4 steps from the deck, cross about 5 feet of sidewalk and then down another 6 steps to the door (garage is recessed down in the yard). I'd like to put a motion sensor light over the door so it lights up to give lighting as you walk from the house to the garage, or from the garage to the house. I'd like to use something a little more eye pleasing than the standard 2 spot motion light. I could get a separate motion sensor to wire into a light, but I don't know what type of light would work or how big a light I need to give proper illumination.

Any thoughts?

Thanks,
Jeff

Jeff, not seeing your situation, only you can determine the amount of light you need. But installing a screw in type motion sensor makes good sense in an application like that. The single bar bulb halogen square lights are a little more eye appealing than the double bug eye, and give a good bit of light.
