I have a ceiling fan without a light fixture that just stopped working. It was on and working. I left the room for a few minutes and when I went back it had stopped. The switch was still in the on position. No one pulled the string to turn it off, since I am the only one in the house who can reach it. Any ideas what might be wrong and how to fix the problem?

Just for kicks, pull the chain. If nothing happens, reset the circuit breaker. If nothing happens, turn the breaker off and check the connections where the fan wires connect to the wires in the ceiling box. Good luck.

One possibility is that a loose wire became disconnected. Check first for a loose wire at the fan connections.

If it is not the wire connections, the switch could have broke or,
even worse the motor of the ceiling fan could have passed on.
