The other night I foolishly placed a humidifier right next to a nice wooden chest, and found the next morning that the chest now has a whitish/yellowish spot on it from the humidifier. I'm not sure if this is simply water damage, or of it's because the humidifier water had salt in it.

Does anyone have any ideas on how to repair this? I can post a photo if it would be helpful.

Thanks,
Patrick
