Every time our GE gas oven is on for a longer period of time - approximately 2 hours - it sets off the carbon monoxide alarm. We called 911 a couple of times, and the fire department didn't detect any carbon monoxide. But it's still scary.
Could the oven be leaking? Is the detector faulty? We installed the oven ourselves, did we do something wrong?
Thank you.

I suggest you call the gas co & have them check the rated input and the actual amount that is clocked. Not uncommon for ovens to produce carbon monoxide. Especially if overgassed. They will be able to adjust or give you an idea of what to do.
2 hours...what are you cooking..........lol

If you have aluminum foil in the bottom of the oven, remove it. If the range is putting out soot, there is definitely a carbon monoxide problem. Call a repair person to make sure that the appliance is properly adjusted. You may have poorly adjusted gas pressure or the air shutter may need to be opened. Depending on the type of carbon monoxide detector you have, it may be that you are getting false alarms.
