I`m looking to find out if anyone would know if the E2 (digital with outdoor sensor) humidistat has to be installed in the return duct and located 1' to 2' upstream or can in be attached (no cut out) on the return ? There is nothing noted in the instruction.

Thanks

DJK

You can mount this on the wall next to your t-stat (Don't use the rubber gasket)

Or Cut out a hole in the return duct and use teh rubber, and remove the knock out on the back of the humdistat holder.

Thanks for your reply Jay11J ! Would you know if the E2 needs to be installed 2 ft. upstream on the return ?

If you can't get 2' then try to get away from the by-pass much as you can.

Last December I bought a Honeywell HE365B1004 to install it myself.
It came with a Generalaire E2 Automatic Digital Humidistat.
The installation was pretty easy but I keep burning the humidistats after a few days.
I think that I am at number 4.
I have been on the phone with Generalaire , they checked my installation with me and they recommended that I replace the wires.
I did that but I keep burning the darn things.
They work for 2 or 3 days then the display become all black or they freeze.
This morning I had a professional coming to have a look.
That cost me @80.00 but he could not find anything wrong either.
Do you have any idea or could you recommend another compatible brand?
Thank you for your help.

Hi There,

I was just wondering if anyone knows if you can use this humidistat with any manufacturer's humidifier? I currently have a Air-King flow thorugh type and would like to replace the current humidistat with this one.

Thanks in advance,

Kibosh
