I'm thinking of moving my stove from one side of the kitchen to the other side wich is only a few feet, maybe 5', away and was wondering if theres certain rules for the duct that comes out of the hood. Can i use some kind of ducting or whatever to run it to the old outlet in the roof?

Yes just use metal pipe or duct. You dont say what you have there. But you can buy the 3 1/4"X 10" duct or 6"and 8" round pipe to run to the roof out let. For sure dont let it just blow into the attic

ok, tnx... I'm not sure whats up there as i've not been there yet I just have an idea how it works. I have a bro that works in the ac field fabricating dept. so maybe he can put something together for me. I just wanted to make sure i'd be in compliance if i ever get inspected later down the line after more remodeling.
