I have 3 filters that go to a duracraft portable floor humidifier. took them out today and there yellow and covered in cat hair.Is It ok to put them in a bucket of hotwater mixed with bleach to clean them.There the paper wire wick type

You are best to just throw them away and replace it with a new one.. The wicking action is less when they get older.
You replace these once or twice a year.
