I replaced my Water heater. However when I shut off the gas I killed the gas to the dryer by accident. I turned the gas back and now my dryer will not ignite. It still tumbles the clothes, just won't ignite. Furthermore, it worked just fine before I shut the gas off. Gas Dryers almost all use electric igniters correct? There isn't a pilot lite I need to lite up first is there? Any suggestions?

Hello cmm002. Welcome to the Gas Appliances topic and the Do-It-Yourself Web Site.
Most likely the dryer has an HSI ignition system. HSI is the hot surface glow igniter. Only very old dryers use pilot lights. If the machine is less then 20 - 25 old, the ignition system is an HSI and does not have a constant burning pilot light.
Re try the dryer again. You did not state how many times the dryer recycled on and off nor the pipe distance, etc. May be a lot of air in the lines. Some times, after repeated tries, the air will purge out and the burner will ignite.
Would help us to know dryer brand, model, age and fuel type. (Natural Gas or Propane) Are you sure there is no shut off valve between dryer and fuel supply left off?
