My husband FINALLY got our new Pegasus kitchen faucet installed. Now, it is leaking! The middle "tube" that apparently supplies the spray nozzle (it's one of those spray nozzles that you pull out of the front) is leaking.

He has tightened it as much as possible and water still just streams out of it.

What can we do? Any idea what might be wrong?

Thanks!

I'll bet he worked like hell, on his back, reaching up there and tightening that nut. Right? Do you know that in new faucet installation, you can first feed the spray nozzle end down through the 4th sink hole to your right, and then send the hose end back up through the center hole, and tighten the small nut under the middle of the faucet, up top, before lowering the faucet and securing it to the sink deck, in some applications? That way you can really see what you are doing.

He will have to undo the hose end, obviously, and start over. Once undone, he will have to look down inside the little nut to see if he maybe ground up some rubber gasket inside of it.

Keep us updated.

OH. Also have him make sure water is streaming out of where he THINKS it is, and not merely running down the hose from the sprayer head leaking. THAT is a real common thing and can be a fooler, especailly if water is running down the backside of the hose. Pull the hose out and check for this when you turn on the faucet.

Thanks for the tip! I want a new sink eventually, so your tip will help him when he has to put the faucet on again!

One other "issue". This faucet is heavy duty and really large. It seems to "rock" when we use it. It doesn't come off of the plate it's on or off of the sink, but I can get my fingernail between the base of the mounting plate and the sink.

My husband said it is oversized for our flimsy little stainless steel sink and that if the faucet were on a cast iron, Americast, or other solid type of sink that it wouldn't "rock". I am satisfied that he has tightened the faucet as much as possible.

Is his reasoning on this correct, or does he have no idea what he is talking about? :)

Thanks again for your help!

Of course his reasoning is correct. You expect us to diss a guy's opinion? Really, did you use the plastic gasket provided with the faucet? It takes up a little space and could help with the rocking. Are all the nuts tight, not hand tight, but tight?
