Hi
Ive got an HE360 installed in my house, its been here since I bought the house and never worked. So I took off the cover and theres no water draining over the filter screen.
I have a strong flow of water at the solenoid when the water line is disconnected.
I tied the yellow wires together coming out of the fan and plugged in the fan unit. The fan spins , I can feel the solenoid clicking when I plug the fan in. No water is coming out of the OUT side of the solenoid though.
With the unit plugged in and the fan on the solenoid should be passing water right ?
I did pull the thin cone screen out of the IN side on the solenoid and its clean.
If it matters the Humidifier system has an S688A sail switch and the H8908B humidistat.
Any tips would be greatly appreciated. Thanks !
Tim

This is what gets me if your sure it works. Why dont water come out of it.
It sounds like everything is working right

Hey
Thanks for the quick reply. I wish the water was off. ;)
Actually I just double checked and the water is definitely on when the solenoid clicks. Loosen the nut a bit connecting the feeder to the solenoid and its dripping out.
Could it be clogged inside?
What do you think ? Thanks
Tim

You say it clicks and you have water on the IN -side. Id say yes its in the solenoid valve then.

Cool , I can take off an L connector on the OUT side and a 1" long straight on the IN side of the solenoid and try and pick out any extra debris. I also ordered a new solenoid from some place I found on google, was $70 after shipping so not too bad.
I really appreciate your help and have one more question..
whats your opinion about tapping the hot water line instead of the cold water for a humidifier? Is the hot water any cleaner or better?
Thanks Again

Just wanted to say after I installed a new solenoid its working. I checked it before I reconnected and water drizzled out the new solenoid. nice. :) so I reconnected it all and I am now watching the humidity rise in the house. Much Thanks ... Tim

Yes the hot water is best. Some junk stays in the water tank
