HELP!!!!
I needed to put in a new Coupler. The mistake I made was to remove the 3 bolts that hold the transmission "up" to whatever assy it bolts on to. Now I can't get the transmission up far enough to even get the bolts started!
What do I have to do to get the transmission reinstalled? Is it possible I broke something (clutch, brake?) by unbolting it?
PLEASE HELP....my wife is really mad!! She's ready to call the local shop and hae them come and put it back together!!! All for a $8 part!!!

I got it in, but I must have not done it right. The agitator "skips" in the spin cycle.
The SPLIT white "dog" that's on the long shaft...does the split go into one of the end tabs that's on both sides of the spring?
Hard to explain!!!

The saga continues......
I got it back together, but the sound was still there. A buzzing/grinding sound coming from the transmission area when it's spinning.
So I pulled the cabinet off and attempted to jump the lid switch....and I think I fried the selector switch!!!! or fried something based on the sizzling sound I heard when I pulled the selector out to activate the washer.

It turns out that my problem was in the Gearcase. I purchased a rebuilt one from Balcum Appliance on EBay.
I can't say enough good things about Jim Balcum. I emailed him my problems, and included my phone number...I NEVER expected him to call but within an hour he did!!!
He diagnosed my problem (not the Coupler) and sold me a rebuilt Gearcase at a fraction of the cost of new. I received it yesterday and within 30 minutes the Washer was running like new again!!!
If anybody ever needs an appliance part, see Balcum Appliance on EBay!!!!
