When I have the 8085 hooked up on the wall my humidifier does not work. BUT....When I hook up my old aprilaire analog humiditat the humidifier works just fine. Look at diagram...I use the blue(C) and Yellow(H) for the humdistat.
Unit is Gas furnace with central air.
I also went to home depot to buy a replacement 8085 just to see if i had a faulty unit and it still did not work.
wall:
C= blue
H= Yellow
w2
Rc= Jumped to RH
o
b
RH= red
W= white
Y= green
g
a
Furnace:
Com= blue and a white wire from A/C
HUM= Yellow
W= white
Y= green and a red wire from A/C
R= red
g
The wires coming from the AC unit are white and red. They hook up at the furnnace. White is attached to "COM" and red is attached to "Y".

First of all, how long has this been wired this way???
What brand/model is your furnace?
Why isn't G being used?

I had to go and look for the info.. You are wired up wrong, and hopefully the furnace is still working!
you will need to pull another wire from the wall.. or if you don't have another wire in the wall, then you need to run new wire up.
Move the yellow wire to Y and Y.
put G to G.
new wire to H and to your humidifer.. NOT HUM on the furnace.
What is your humidifer model? How was it wired up before?

This is how it was wired when i bought the house. When i bought the rite temp, i just hooked everything up the way it was. BTW, i never touched the wires on the computer in the furnace.

Ok, I take it you have not used the A/ C yet on this system?
Do you know if you have extra wires behind the wall for the humidifer?
When you said you put the old humidistat back on.. Is it near the t-stat or down on the return duct?

I just wanted to share with the others..
I chatted with Sim this evening, and he shared a few other pictures with me.
It turns out that his blower DID work when he had A/C going last summer... I asked him if the fan ON worked, and it did not. So I advised him to run a new set of wire.
As why the new t-stat's humidity control didn't work and the old Apirlaire humdistat did work is that he has the solenoid valve in series of HUM (Hot) off the furance and H(hot) on the t-stat. He didn't have a common side. When he wired up the old humidistat, it was HUm to valve, then back to C.

Sim.
As we spoke earlier today, I advise you to get a new t-stat wire pulled... Go with 8 wire 18gauge wire.
So wire this all with power OFF.
T-stat.....wire.....furnace
R....red...R
W...white...W
G...green...G
Y...yellow...Y
C...blue...Com
H...orange....see below.
Now you can use the old t-stat wire that you pulled out, and only use 2 wires. use that wire from the humidifer down to the board to meet the other wires.
White wire to solenoid valve. and tie that to Com on the furnace board.
wirenut Red wire from other solenoid valve to orange wire from t-stat.
Leave the wire from outdoor unit as they are (Com and Y)

Looking at the other photo you've sent everything else seems to be in good order... I have not see that type of air filter in a long time.
Have you checked the pad in the humidifer?

Yes I change the humidifier pad (filter) once a year. Also, that is the furnace filter Indoor Air Professionals put in when the cleaned out all my air ducts.
They pulled out a ton of crap!!
I noticed a big difference when i fired up the furnace for the first time. I did not get that "smell". lol
