Hi,
I have a Hotpoint Gas Stove w/ a bottom oven that will not light. I had to shut off the electrical circuit breaker for an unrelated project and when I turned it back on the oven didn't work. The top burners are fine, they light.
What could cause this? Could it have anything to do w/ the clock settings that are now blinking b/c I shut off and turned back on power? Is the pilot supposed to be lit? I looked underneath the oven and there is a 1" x 4" thingee that looks like a pilot generator but I hear no gas and hear no clicking as if trying to ignite. Was working fine prior to shutting off power then turning back on.
Thanks

No owner's manual?
I am not sure what kind of pilot system you have. Is there any kind of electrical wire that goes down to the burner area?

Hello Joe. Welcome to my Gas Appliances topic.
That oven does not have a pilot light. That part you are referring to (pilot generator) is a hot surface (HSI) glow igniter. Be sure the clock is set correctly or very likely the igniter will not operate.
Re-set the clock and all controls on the panel. May have to once again remove electrical power from the appliance to aid in resetting all selections again. Trial and error method. Not likely anything else wrong with the oven mechanically or with any part(s).
