Hi everyone,

I am hoping that someone can help me. My dryer is taking longer than ususal to dry my clothes and it is getting very hot. I also noticed that the heating element is glowing a bright orange (something I never did notice before). It stays hot for quite a while even after the load is finished drying.

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks,

Darren

Check your vent hose, ducting, & outlet for obstructions, i.e. a big lint buildup. Do this ASAP, you could have a fire hazard.

Yeah I made sure the dryer hose is virtually straight to the outside... I clean out every little bit of lint that was in it too. I took off the back cover of the dryer and cleaned any extra lint out of there too.

The 'flaps' on the dryer vent outside are still being pushed right open when it runs, so it seems there is a good flow to the outside...?
