Just installed Honeywell to supplied H8908C dehumidistat. Connected one yellow wire from dehumidifier to black wire in dehumidistat and other black wire in dehumidstat to remaining yellow wire on dehumidifier. I am getting a hum from built in 24V transformer. What did I do wrong? The unit plugs into 120V electrical connection. Connecting yellows from unit together provides working unit but still get hum.

I'd call Honeywell to see if they can send you a new transfromer.. There are transfromer that will buz every now and then, and just end up replacing.

It is built into the or connected to the internal circuit board. I may have to return. Thanks for the advice.
