I just purchased a house that is on a hill and has a gravel driveway on one side and asfault drive on the other that both run down to the main neighborhood street. At the end of each driveway there are culverts. The previous owner cut in the gravel driveway and the county put in the culvert next to the main street in front of my house.
Im having major problems when it rains because the water that runs down the hill (picks up speed along the way to the main road) along one side the ditch of the gravel drive pushes small gravel, small/medium rocks, dirt and clay and deposits them right at the end of the culvert on one side and clogs it up COMPLETELY.
I need to to somehow stop this downhill water flowing along the gravel road ditch from pushing everything in its path to the main road and plugging up my culvert.
Please help, Im lost as to what to do. Any help is so much appreciated.
Thanks Larry

You need to cut a drainage ditch beside the gravel driveway to carry the run-off. Keep the gravel out of the ditch.

The county will have little sympathy for the gravel that is being washed down because of a privately installed installation that is not up to the country reqirements.
