A few years ago the pump for our whirlpool tub stopped working. It simply did not come on when I pressed the button. No humming or strange noises or anything like that. I subsequently ordered and replaced the button assembly and the air line going from it to the motor itself, but still the motor will not come on. I have thoroughly tested the A/C outlet and breakers, the outlet is definitely getting power. We have a small access hole in the closet, and from there I took the airswitch box cover off and everything in the box looks to be connected, although I'm looking at it from a weird angle. I cannot get both hands on the pump or would have already taken the whole thing out for a closer look. What could be the problem here? Is there a fuse on the pump motor somewhere? I didn't see one in the black box. I am trying to elimintate the obvious things before I cut a larger access hole in our hallway wall.

Thanks,

Casey

I am totally unfamiliar with such a unit, but want you to tell ME something: Do yo know of any safety feature that will prevent you froturning on the pump whenenever you want to...such as water level or something? Any such questions you can ask of yourself like this can be used as a hint. You have to determine in this way if there is some other (safety)switch that has to "close" before the motor can come on.

Other than that, it sounds like you know what you are doing and it really comes down to testing the motor, I guess, unless there is something to that first paragraph of mine.
