So my son has significant allergies and I was told a humidifier would help. Since he is also alergic to mold, I realize I have to upkeep anything I get very well and not make things to Humid)

I have gas heat for the main level and a heat pump (in my attic) for the upstairs- I plan on not doing anything to the heat pump because of its location- I'll just put a portable Humidifier in his room (unless you have another suggestion.

What should I use for the main level (and future basement) (approx 2000 sqft) Furnance is a TRANE XR90
I was thinking about the Aprilare 700?

Thoughts

room unit is good for his bedroom.

As for space, do you have room on the supply duct work to mount the 700 to ?

Otherwise, I'd go with the bypass, be a bit easier to take care, and nothing to go out on you.

The Trane has power source that you can wire the transfromer in for the humidifer. (or power for the 700)

Thanks Jay-
I'll stick with room one for upstairs.

Downstairs, should I do a bypass?
I can have room on the supply, but that's because the basement is unfinished. I do plan on finishing it, so that may be issue.

What bypass humidifer would you recommend?

If space going to be an issue, then go by pass.. Put the unit on the return side.

Both Honeywell and Aprilaire are good products.. I have Honeywell on mine.
