Where do I look in the phone book to get some pieces of padded carpeting edge bound for use as throw rugs?

Thanks!

Most good upholstery places either do binding or have someone they recommend.

This looks like it has the potential for me to really screw it up. How easy is this to do, and do you need the"special " glue gun with the tip? any advise would be greatly appriciated!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Carpet binders in some areas may be a trade secret. Call around and ask a few carpet retailers if they can recommend one. When I sold carpet, the binder I used had a shop at his home.

Tools needed:

Razor knife
Scissors
Straight edge
Framing square
hot melt glue gun(extended tip makes it easier, but not needed)
Needle and thread(optional)

Square your rug up.
Turn it upside down, working from the back.
Starting in the middle instead of a corner, works better for me, unless there is no back side to hide the seam.

When you get to the corner, use the scissors to miter the cloth back, for a smooth transition around the corner.

Now for the seam, a dab of hot melt. Not much at all, you don't want it to ooze out. Then I stitch it together with color matching thread.

Now turn the rug over, and hot melt as you used your fingers to fold the binding edge up(this is where the extended nozzle helps.
