I have an old two handle side fixture mount Briggs bath faucet that drips hot water. I have replaced the seat and the washer, but a small drip persists. What's next?

Does it drip from the spout or from the handle area. Do you turn your shower diverter back to the tub when you are through with a shower. If not, you are probably getting a drip from the water column to the shower head.

Drips from the spout. This is a vanity faucet, not a tub/shower.

Your seat is either not matching up with the washer or the seat threads into the valve body is not a tight fit. It can only be these things. IF you used a flat washer, try a beveled one, or vice-versa. Also, use penlight and screw driver and make sure no nicks happend in the top of the seat when you installed it. I use a small bladed flat screwdriver for feeling my way around the top rim of the seat to make sure I do not feel a 'pit' in the seat. Also, is your new washer nice and supple as opposed to old and brittle?

We are having the same problem with a constant drip on our 3 year old pedistal sink in the downstairs bathroom. The cold water drips constantly. It's a Delta. I've taken the handle off and the washer looks and feels soft. When I push down on the cold water faucet, the drip stops. Should I replace the washer with a new one? Universal washer set or Delta specific? If I replace the washer and the drip persists, what would be our next step? Thanks in advance. AW
