Hello, we have a GE Harmony electric dryer, DPGT750EC. Sometimes it heats and dries, sometimes it doesn't. I originally posted in the electrical forum b/c I thought it may be due to the 240V supply. However, this is not the cast.
The GE repair technician came today and after hooking up his computer diagnostic system, determined that the problem with the blower. And... for $300+ parts and $300+ labor, he could fix it. (I could buy a new one for that).
Because it works sometimes, and sometimes it doesn't - I'm hoping that it is just a loose wire (the technician did not open up the dryer). I've done web searches but cannot find a schematic or anything to give me instructions on how to get to the blower to check it out. I could even replace it if need be.
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated!!!!

I have an LG dryer that would not heat. I went online and downloaded a "Service Manual" and proceeded to troubleshoot with a multimeter. Turned out all it was was a saftey thermostat (15.00 part).
See if you can find a manual online and open up your dryer ( UNPLUG IT FIRST) next find the heating element. On the element there should be a few thermostats ( not sure how many but all manufacturers use a saftey and a hi-lo) You will need to check the resistance on those pieces with a multimeter. Also check the resistance on the heating element. The service manual should give you a range of resistance for each piece. Whatever is bad will show no resistance. Replace that piece.
Good Luck!!

Unfortunately, after doing an exhaustive search of the web, I cannot find any service manuals for this model. Apparently, the company is keeping access strictly to the authorized technicians, who in turn, have refused anybody obtaining a Service Manual.

There is a site that has users postig manuals but i cannot seem to find it right now.
Regardless, you know the unit operates just wont heat, correct? Or is it heating and just not blowing?

It goes on cycles. It won't heat for the whole day, then for no reason, the following day, it works. The technician (after hooking up his computer) says that the problem is the blower. This part is true, because when it wasn't "heating", there was no air coming out of the exhaust.
