I've inherited a Roper Refridge. Not sure how old, I think a little over a year, but def less than 2 yrs old. Its the smaller cheaper model. I will get the model # tonight.

The Problem: Its not cooling at all in the fridge or freezer sections. Both are room temp. The fan in the freezer is running, and the fan at the bottom in the back is running. I'm not sure if the compressor is running (I only hear the fan at the bottom running, nothing that sounds like a conpressor).

It was hooked up and to my knowledge was working properly, and then sat in my garage for 2 weeks, and now I've discovered this.

Any help would greatly be appreciated!

First thing you need to do is make sure all vents and coils are clean of dust and debris. These areas need ventilation. This is the number on cause of compressor failure as it makes the compressor work harder which will lead to failure.

If after that it still will not cool and your sure the dials (temp settings) inside the fridge are set correctly it may mean the compressor failed and you will need to have it replaced.
