Welcome to the forums! What is probably happening the fill valve is vibrating, trying to close off the water, and it can't decide to shut it off or let it run, so it sounds like a pipe chattering. Turn the water off to the toilet, and remove the cap (1/4 turn CCW) of the fill valve. Holding a cup over the valve, turn the water back on for a few seconds. This will help flush out the crap that gets caught up in them. Replace the cap, and try it again. Let us know if it works, or if we need to come up with another scenario.
