Have a deep stain left from a potted plant on a teak bookcase. Do I use a sander to remove this stain. If so, an electric sander?

Many water stains can be removed or at least diminished with the application of oxalic acid, commonly known as wood bleach.
It comes as a powder you mix with hot water and brush on. Any action (stain removal) normally occurs within minutes. After action, wipe the surface clean, wipe again with a dmap rag and wipe dry.
If sanding is necessary, use a dust mask. The powder of both the acid and teak is a respiratory irritant, and could be a problem for anyone with any kind of respiratory problems.
