Have any of you ever used a concrete nailer gun to install tack strip on concrete? If so, does it work OK, or is the pressure from the gun too much for the stripping? I want to buy my husband one(surprise) to use on his jobs,(and cant ask him) but dont know if it will work or be a waste of money.
Thanks

They work well on new construction/green concrete, but lack, when you hit some old cured ironcrete.

I've only tried that method once and I must have gotten some pretty soft concrete or something. The nails blew right through the strip. But don't let that stop you. Tools for us are like shoes for women, we can't have too many. If he doesn't have one and works with his hands, he'll love it.

It's a nice thought and, were I to get such a present, I'd love it. But it actually won't make his job any easier, at least for tack strip. Any chance you could sneak a quick inventory of his tools and let us know what he has? Perhaps we could suggest something. One thing that comes to mind would be an adapter for his stretcher to do long hallways. He may already have one, but, if not, I'll bet he'd like it and they're very handy.

A stand up concrete nail driver is nice for that.

Daniel - For some reason, I can't get a favorable response from the first one but the second one shows a picture of it. I've never seen anything like that. Does it work on concrete? It seems like it would be slower than just cruisin' along nailing. Is it? If it works on concrete, I'd think it would help reduce the likelihood of catching the base with the hammer. I had a new helper cost me a fortune in base that way once.
