My house is on a slab near the ocean. About every 5 years I find I need to replace my carpets because there appear to be excess moisture creating a mildew spots(I believe from moisture coming up thru the slab). A few questions:
Do you recommend a moisture barrier or Dricore(a product found in HD) which is a 2X2 ft section with plastic on one side and wood on the other?
What kind of carpet would you recommend?
Will AC fix this issue?
Also, what is the best way to remove the glued on carpet pad?

Yes full time conditioning will reduce the problem
Don't put a moisture barrier over the dricore, put it under the dricore, before it is installed.
