Hello,
I am attempting to light the pilot lite on my Jotul J100 gas stove. It lights without a problem after the spark, however it will not stay lit. I checked the manual and the flow chart indicates that the thermocoupler should be checked or replaced.
My questions are what is a thermocoupler? Does this sound like the problem? The main gas line does not appear blocked, the clearance for the flame is too spec. Any suggestions would be greatful. (We have never had any service on this unit, so after approx. 12 years it works pretty well.
Thanks.
Leo

I have had the same Jotul J100 for 15 years. If the pilot will not stay lit after holding it down for a minute or so, it is probably the thermocouple, which I have had replaced once already and need to have done again...hence my search today. If you aleady serviced your stove can you tell me where you got parts? i am having trouble finding them now.
thanks
