My toilet tank is not emptying. This is casusing the flapper to not fully close as there is too much water in the tank for it to go back into place fully. What and where is the adjustment to ensure all the water in the tank is used in the flushing process?
Any help greatly appreciated.

How long has this been going on? What type of ballcock is in your toilet?Does the flow just stop midway, slowly stop, and does the flost on the unit cut it off or not?

Happend just yesterday. At first I though it was the flapper, so replaced that. But was is happening is that the tank empties about half way, then starts filling up again. Consequently the flapper cannot close as it is still floating on top of the remaining water in the tank. Not sure what sort of ballcock I have - sorry.

Shorten the length of chain from the handle lever to the flapper. It should lift almost vertically with the initial flush action. It seems yours is only going about half way and then floating down.
