Installing an above ground 330 tank in a garage. Can the fill line run horizontally (1/4" per foot pitch) outside and just capped ? Or do i have to install elbow for a riser? If riser is needed is there a min. lenght? Note vent will be approx. 2' above above this fill. Concerned delivery connection will be approx. 5' above grade, dont want to make it to high or impossible to hook up to, without a ladder.

Check with your oil company. Some use a special adaptor on the truck hose which locks on to the fill pipe equipped with a matching fitting. Five feet is pretty high. No way to put the fill closer to grade?

Granby tanks have 2" connections on top of tank only, tank height is 44" + 12" legs, then piping rise is approx. 3-1/2" (using close nipple), and outside grade is approx. 6" lower for a total of 65-1/2". This is approx. the same height a delivery person might encounter on an outside tank. The only difference is, I'm on a horizontal fill as opposed to a verticle fill. The pitch towards the tank is at best going to be 1/2", the max the
elbow will allow.
Is there an fill adapter that screws onto a 2" pipe? What is it called?

Might also check code there for how you have to put in a oil tank. Dont foget to pitch the tank to the bottom drainhole and the oil filter there. To keep and water and yuck out of the tank.

I believe the adaptor is called a "Tight Fill" & is made by Scully. The oil delivery nozzle locks onto this adaptor. They are widely used in cities but in rural areas they are far less common. Check with your fuel company to see if they use them.

Uni-Fill is another name for the same connection. I would suggest a female 45 degree adapter on that pipe. It won't add height and will make it easier for the nozzle to connect to the pipe. If your company uses that style, they may carry them on the delivery truck.
