I have a Quadra-Fire pellet stove. There is a dump on the bottom of the fire box to dump out the old residue after burning....this dump plate is opened by pulling a knob located at the ash container. Lately the dump plate is near impossible to pull and I have to remove the ash container and, with much effort, work the plate by hand. It appears the plate mechanism is galled at the pivot...anybody have any ideas of what kind of lubrication I could use to free it up? Thanks!

C'mon everybody....doesn't anyone have any ideas of what lube I can use? The manufacturer is useless for info.

Guess no one has had this problem.
A movng part that is in a dusty location is difficult to lube because of attracting dust to the joint.
I would suggest WD-40 to clean the joint of the pivot by a generous application and moving the parts back and forth.
Use a rag to catch the spillage and clean up as much as you can.
Also, give it some time for the WD to evaporate before using the stove.

Thanks for the reply GregH....already tried WD-40 but guess I'll have to take it apart and polish it smooth, etc. I was probably looking for the "miracle" cure!
