I've learned quite a few things from reading in the shadows for the past few months but now I have to make a purchase on a humidifier and need some help. First off I have an Amana 96.9% furnace 2 stage fan. I'm debating between the 600 &700 any insight to preference is much appreciated.Local HVAC are charging $400 for install of the 600 and 1 guy in town is charging $250 for the 400(any opinions on the 400 are welcome as well). I always keep the fan running and would like the humidifier to keep going as well how do I do that and finally when I tap into the hot water what adapter do you guys use to tap into the hot water? Thankyou.

If you can or know how Put a shut off in the water line for it. If not then go with the saddle valve.

If you have a EAC stab on or put a A50 over the blower wires

Go for the 700 it does the job

Like Ed said, if you got the EAC port on the board (I don't know Amana) that will power the system all times when the blower is running.

I hear a lot of mix results on the 400.. go either the 600 or 700.

Jay what does EAC mean. Yeah I know anyone reading this probably just got a chuckle but if you could break that down and explain exactly what I would have to do that would be terrific. Thanks.

EAC stands for Electronic Air Cleaner. some people wire it to HUM,(Humidifer), that only provides power when heat is called, where EAC will provide power any time the blower runs.

You may have to look on your furnace's board to see if you have this, and also on back side of the blower door, it may provide info if it's giving 120 volts of power or 24 volts.
