I have the usual 2 bulb spotlight mounted to my ranch home, backyard side. I was interested in putting in a motion control triggered unit as a direct replacement. My problem is there is a large tree about 15 feet away and 10 feet off to the side of the lights. Will the tree movement from the wind cause the unit to trigger? Are the sensors thermal or motion ?

Thanks

Yep, any movement that close will trigger it on. I put mine up too high to the overhang and that cause a problem also, had to lower it about a foot.

That's what I figured. THe only way of getting around the tree problem is to limit the coverage to say 90 degrees. May not be such a bad thing since that would cover the bedroom windows.
